Northern Humboldt Builder is a family business with Josh Backman, born and raised in Humboldt County, running the construction and Danielle Garcia managing the office side. We both have a deep love for our community, and Josh has over 20 years experience in construction establishing strong connections with local contractors, tradesmen, vendors, and his own clients. As a devoted family man with four beautiful daughters and a long-time partner, Danielle, Josh knows how to show up for his people.

Josh is reliable, honest, and hard working, with an easy going personality and a good sense of humor! Starting at 15 years old as a laborer, Josh continued in the trades taking on increasingly difficult projects and learning new skills while apprenticing with other advanced contractors. Now Josh has a broad range of experience and the expertise to provide quality work you can count on.

When he's not at work, Josh enjoys taking his family to the lake for fishing, hiking, and boating, or exploring local beaches and looking for agates. He’s also very passionate about riding a variety of 2- and 4-wheel vehicles. We love to ride our quads and dirt bikes any chance we can get. This passion for life and the love of our family is directly reflected in our passion for serving as your Northern Humboldt Builder!
